  • P. morgani is an inhabitant of springs and cold creeks of eastern North America from New Brunswick to North Carolina and as far west as Kentucky. They have also been found in El Dorado County, California.
  • The animals are approximately 14mm long and 2mm wide.
  • The head is rectangular with a truncated anterior end and rounded lateral edges.
  • The auricles are flattened along the head.
  • The coloration on both the dorsal and ventral sides is white.
  • Their reproduction is asexual by fission.
